Living, drumming, teaching in Berlin.Bulky little piece of (free) Jazz
Do drums really always need a signature and fixed patterns? Since beginning of January I am experimenting with Ableton 8, creating sound patterns which follow a certain flow but no defined signature. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure whether this is possible at all. Isn’t there always a signature? Isn’t there always a system in the chaos? Mathematics answer yes, do we drummers agree? One could argue, yes…or no…I am not sure myself, I am at the beginning of this work and will focus on that within the following months…
here’s a short video clip I upped to YouTube, just piano, drums and a few strange sounds…have fun!
Movie Theme -Wisent Man
I don’t actually know where the Wisent is going to lead me – better say where I am going to lead the Wisent. I used to compose the basic theme 2 months ago for a movie but it didn’t make it into the final project for several reasons.
Nevertheless I really like it and I am still working on it from time to time. This here is the early and roughly mixed version.
Take care and have a nice weekend, friends!
From Now On I Am A Rock
Folkzzz,
long time no hear no see. Hope you are well . I am still working a lot with the new Ableton 8 diving a bit deeper into its features day by day. Today I started to work on some very old ideas which have rot on my desk several months, some even several years already. It’s not my intention to build ready-to-go tracks but more track-like soundscapes which one (maybe you and I) could work on and perform later. This one is called “From Now On I Am A Rock”. Have fun and take care!
Experimental Track
Folkzzz,
can we call this a track? I am quite unsure. Basically I just wanted to try out the vox compressor inside Ableton Live. In the end I liked the “product” that much that I have put it on MyTube. Have fun, hope you like it. And yezzz, i can’t sing at all :-).
Another short piece
Another piece of movie music
Yezzz. Well, this time it is quiet a strange piece of music. So far I like it. Give it a try and listen to the final part.
Product Test – Windows 7 Review
Folks, I was really close to trashing my Dell Vostro 1500, 1.8 GH Dual Core with Vista Business Edition installed and buying a MacBook last week.
Then my dog fell seriously ill and cost me something around 1000 bucks within 5 days – that ‘s it – I had to change my mind. Instead of buying a mac I have bought Windows 7 Ultimate Edition today. I somehow had to get rid of Vista which in my eyes is a really bad ass operating system – it caused me so much trouble – NEVER AGAIN!
Well, I know, there are so much Windows haters out there and MAC always seems to be a proper alternative. Nevertheless Windows 7 will reclaim its place amongst the private as well as the business users. I am quite sure about this. After having installed it four hours ago I ran several tests, I especially tested my software including video editing with Premiere, image editing with Photoshop, audio editing with Ableton Live 8 – and, guess what, Windows 7 is much faster, much more reliable, better looking and easier to use than any other Windows OS I have ever got my hands on so far.
I might not take away your doubts with this article but I strongly suggest you to take a closer look at it. Have fun!
Another excerpt from a film score
Self explanatory. I think this will be the last one for a while. Recently I realized that all this stuff seems a bit “dark”. Well, honestly…I am feeling good at the moment.
Excerpt No.4 – Movie Soundtrack
Here it comes, excerpt No.4. This time YouTube has unfortunately inserted some crackles into the Audio. This is just a pity because I really love this track. Nevertheless it’s good enough to give an overall impression of my recent progress. Hope you like it and take care, my friends.
Yet another movie soundtrack exerpt
Oh yezzz, friends – I am having fun with composing soundtracks for movies. This is another short 77 seconds excerpt which I recently uploaded to YouTube. I hope you like it.
